Sam Winnard the big winner at DDCA presentation night

THE DDCA presentation night was held on Saturday, March 27 at the Hepburn Springs Golf Club.

The event was well attended with the guest speaker ex-Carlton and Swans player Michael Kennedy.

The Sam Morris Cup was presented to premiers Colts, the Advocate Cup went to runners-up Newlyn and the W Malone Shield for minor premiers to Newlyn.

The senior batting award was won by Sam Winnard from Hepburn with 909 runs at 64.93.

The senior bowling went to Mark Clohesy from Newlyn with 19 wickets at 8.37.

Leigh Allen from Newlyn won the junior batting with 144 runs at 28.80, while the junior bowling went to Brayden Slater from Newlyn with 15 wickets at 13.80.

The wicketkeeping award went to Stuart Schultz from Colts with 14 dismissals, and the fielding award to Sam Winnard from Hepburn with 13 catches.

The Rees Powell Memorial Award to the best under-21 player was awarded to Sam Winnard from Hepburn.

The Warren Pickering Award for the best bowling performance was also won by Sam Winnard, with 7/59.

The W J O'Connell Medal awarded to the best player was won by Sam Winnard with 30.5 votes from Chris Adams on 28 votes.
