NEWLYN narrowly won outright points in its match against Colts in Daylesford District Cricket Association at the weekend.
Resuming at 3-93 Newlyn was dismissed for 178.
Ashley Davidson was the pick of the bats with 53, Steve Thomas took 3-30 for Colts.
Colts had a second dig and made 129, Matthew Schards, 38, and Finley McDonald, 23, not out the only batsmen to show out.
This left Newlyn two overs to get 33 runs for an outright victory.
The courageous but short run chase finished on 3-15.
Brett Marshall took 2-6 and was at one stage on a hat-trick.
Blackwood resumed on 1-94 chasing Trentham's 214.
The second-placed side declared on 4-297 at tea with Derek Hepburn 65 , Dan Morgan 115 not out and Chris Buckley 47 not out leading the way with the bat.
Glen Jennings snared 2-36 for Trentham.
Trentham made 147 in its second innings with Sam Hewitt, 37, Michael Micallef, 30, and Kyle Vorbach, 28, doing well.
Scott Unstad 3-18, Allan Salmon 2-5 and Derek Hepburn 2-9 shared the wickets.
Hepburn did not supply results for its match against Smeaton.
The semi-finals will be played on Saturday and Sunday.
Korweinguboora will play at home against Newlyn and Blackwood will play Hepburn at Victoria Park 1.
