Korweinguboora too strong for Trentham

KORWEINGUBOORA cemented its position at the top of the ladder on the weekend with a comfortable win over Trentham.

Korweinguboora was able to get to 5/172 in 77 not out.

Andy Thomas took 2/52.

Trentham replied with 7/123. Sam Bruton top scored with 41 and Josh Cowan took 2/11.

In another district cricket match, Newlyn defeated Colts by 11 runs.

Newlyn made 7/124, with Lee Allan, 40 and Nick Smith, 33 the better bats and Steven Thomas ntsachippedntechipping in with 2/27.

Colts finished on 8/113 with Stuart Schultz getting 20 and Jason Mackley 67 no.

Youngster Braydon Slater took 5/22 and Peter Stephens got 2/20.

Meanwhile, Hepburn has enjoyed a win over Blackwood. Hepburn made 7/175 in ntsatheirnteits allotted 35 overs. Tom Robertson 36, Nick Wong, 51 and Sam Winnard, 44 did well for Hepburn.

The Salmon brothers Al and Dave took 3/46 and 3/34 for Blackwood.

Blackwood replied with 10/146. Brett Sullivan scored 22, while Luke Whitehouse, 31 and Marty Dejong, 52 were also in the runs.

The wickets were shared between Mitchell Elderfield 6/40, Wayne Robertson 2/40 and Sam Conroy 2/40.

Daylesford juniors made 9/158 in their 40 overs against Trentham.

The better batsmen were Andrew Brown 40 no, Declan Ryan, 30, Sebastian Walsh, 30 and Braydon Slater, 21.

The wickets were taken by L. Adams 3/23 and I. Jenkins 2/27.The game continues next week.

The ladder after round three is Korweinguboora 12, Newlyn 6, Hepburn 6, Colts 6, Trentham 6, Blackwood 6.

Next week's games sees Trentham home to Colts and Newlyn home to Hepburn.
