First-up success for Liam in representing Daylesford in riding

25 Nov, 2008 09:47 AM
EIGHT-year-old Liam Richardson represented the Daylesford Riding for the Disabled Centre at the recent Ballarat Show.

Liam, riding Tammy (who is owned by Gabby Francis of Wheatsheaf), was competing for the first time. It was a successful day for Liam and Tammy winning several ribbons in Division One.

To top it off, Liam won the Ballarat Rotary Encouragement Award.

This award is given by the judge for the rider, from any division, to encourage them to continue riding. Liam is coached by Steve Clare and Wendy Hodben.

Daylesford Riding for the Disabled recommenced in February 2008.

The Centre runs at Boomerang Ranch on Friday afternoons.

There are currently six riders registered who range in age from six to 40 years of age.

People interested in volunteering or riding in 2009 should contact Lesley Hewitt on 0407 843 928 or 5348 1749.
