Colts win easily after tying Hepburn down

COLTS had a good win over Hepburn. Hepburn batted first and were dismissed for 130 runs.

Sam Winnard 46 and Wayne Robinson 41 stood out, while the wickets were shared by Steve Thomas 5/34, Michael Cummings 2/44 and Brett Marshall 2/16.

Colts replied with 5/139, Aaron Brereton hit 41 and Matthew Bolton finished on 38 not out. Sam Winnard took 2/44 for Hepburn.

In another match, Blackwood had a win over Trentham. Blackwood made 2/201 with Brett Sullivan 83, Luke Whitehouse 34, Steve O'Brien 43 not out and Al Salmon 27 not out, all ntsacontibutingntecontributing .

Trentham was rolled for 73 runs, only Sam Hewitt 25 not out offering resistance.

Marty Dejong 3/26, Scott Unstad 2/10 and James Cann 2/5 took the wickets.

In another DDCA match, Newlyn had a strong win over Korweinguboora.

Newlyn finished with 10 for 123, while Korweinguboora slumped to 89 all out.

Simon Dwyer made 50 for Newlyn while Luke Adams took two wickets for Korweinguboora.

Daylesford under-16

THE boys were unlucky to lose by 13 runs, as they were two bowlers short.

Campbells Creek finished on 7/184. Brayden Slater took 2/17 while Harry Robb took two good catches and had a direct hit run out. C. McKendry 50 retired and R. Dzioba 36 did well for Campbells Creek.

The boys have an unconfirmed bye next week.

Next week's games: Newlyn home to Blackwood; Colts home to Korweinguboora; and Hepburn home to Trentham.

The ladder after round six: Newlyn 24, Colts 18, Korweinguboora 18, Hepburn 18, Trentham 6, Blackwood 6.
