Trentham man chases the big storms

13 Jul, 2010 01:54 PM
TRENTHAM'S Clyve Herbert covered 27,000 kilometres over five weeks chasing storms in America.

Mr Herbert and his chase partner Jane ONeill, also from Trentham, travelled from Texas to the Canadian border from April to June.

The pair were lucky enough to witness 10 tornados, one of which was about six kilometres from where they were standing.

"Our main interest was to photograph and video severe storms, which we will compile on a two-hour DVD,'' Mr Herbert said.

"We were also interested in small town America and taking photos of outback America.''
