CLUNES Primary School is among five schools taking part in the Ripon Yarns project, which uses film to collect local history.
Students last week tracked down Lindsay and Joy Torney, who moved to the town in 1934, along with Laurie Steart, to listen to their oral histories.
They are also concentrating on the 1944 fires that swept through the area destroying homes and the hospital.
Other schools taking part include Windermere, Learmonth, Miners Rest and Mt Blowhard.ql
