NOT Left Behind, an exhibition of objects, stories, images and reflections of what people took with them when they evacuated during February's bushfires, will be held at Daylesford Town Hall from May 1 to 6.
The exhibition, organised by Jeff Stewart and Alison Scott, will include an area for people to gather and talk about their experiences.
Mr Stewart said anyone with precious things, photographs or writings, could drop them off to the town hall on Wednesday, April 29.
"What is important may be different for each of us," Mr Stewart said.
"It is recommended that we take passports and other official documentation, but what of those other items that are truly important to us, those that have sentimental value, that have personal or historic significance for our families and friends, but no apparent practical or even monetary value.
"For two weeks it seemed every second car in Vincent St was packed with cartons containing people's lives."
Entry will be through gold coin donation with money going to the CFA.
