HAD a call to the office last Wednesday from a bloke saying The Advocate was blatantly anti-Glenlyon.
Okay, up off the floor, stop the laughter.
Everyone, well almost everyone, knows I live in Glenlyon and love the village and its community.
Last week I even devoted this column to a blatant promotion of the local Food and Wine Fayre.
In the past I have written about not only the fayre but the New Year Sports Day, the sculpture show, the art show, the Landcare group, the ghosts of Glenlyon walk, the CFA fundraisers ...
Anyway, the caller said we had failed to promote the Bobonaro Bush Dance at the hall - something I attended and happily handed over my $10 entry fee, enjoyed a ballad or two and wolfed down a very tasty snag.
Again, I was a little dumbstruck - I must be shedding my thick skin - but to anyone who thinks they are not getting a fair go in The Advocate firstly, if you have an event you want help promoting, make a call or drop us an email or snail mail.
Despite reading the stars each week we're not mind readers and sadly we have no pyschic ability whatsoever.
It's also a busy office and we just run out of time and man/woman power to chase down every event.
Feel free to follow through because we are also, oddly enough and despite my usually dishevelled appearance by Friday, just human and mistakes happen.
And if you miss out once don't give up. There's myriad reasons and none of them are that we are agin you.
It's generally a space problem, a technical issue, or even just that we stuffed up.
So, apologies to whoever it was who called but you're wrong.
I love Glenlyon and I am pretty keen on the entire shire.
That's why I live and work here.
You didn't leave your name but feel free to call back.
With the store shut I am always up for some Glenlyon goss.
