BLACKWOOD will be baking hot this Saturday with a Christmas bake-off.
Organiser Heather Marsh said the bake-off was to raise money for a community wood-fired oven.
People will be able to enter their baked goods into categories including best modern or traditional Christmas cake, best shortbread, biscuits and slices and a children’s open competition.
All goods entered will be judged at 10am and prizes awarded at 11am, after which all entries will be sold on the day to raise money for the oven.
Ms Marsh said it was a good opportunity to buy Christmas goodies and contribute towards something the whole community could enjoy.
The bake-off will take place on December 17 at the Blackwood Community Hall on Byers Road.
