DAYLESFORD District Brass Band will once again travel around the shire playing carols for unsuspecting residents.
Conductor Jenny Jordan said band members would be caroling on Monday for housebound residents, families and on street corners, until it was too dark to see their music.
"Every time we stop a handful of people will come out of their houses. Just the joy on their faces is fantastic," Ms Jordan said.
"We all just jump on the bus and say `where do we go next'?"
Ms Jordan said the Daylesford District Brass Band had 28 members and they all volunteered their time. Even the bus was donated.
She said they did it because it "makes people happy".
"The sound rings out across town.
"People say `we didn't see the band but we could hear the band'."
Daylesford District Brass Band will also stage a Carols by Candlelight at the Hepburn Sound Shell on Monday, December 21, from 7.45pm.
Daylesford Pipes and Drums and Trentham Cool Harmony Choir will also perform at the event.
