A 43-year-old Daylesford woman was allegedly caught with a trafficable amount of cannabis after police raided her home last Friday morning.
Ballarat Regional Response Unit allegedly found 14 plants growing in the woman's backyard after executing a search warrant at the premises at 8am.
About 500 grams of green vegetable matter alleged to be cannabis and $1900 in cash were also confiscated during the raid.
The woman was bailed to appear at Ballarat Magistrates Court on February 27.
The drugs were taken to Ballarat Police Station for disposal.
Daylesford Police Sergeant Andrew Guiney said police believed the drugs were being sold in the Daylesford and Hepburn Springs area.
"Unfortunately people don't realise the dangers of cannabis use. It's a significant factor in causing violent and anti-social behavior, especially when mixed with alcohol," Sgt Guiney said.
But Sgt Guiney said Daylesford and Hepburn Springs didn't have a major drug trafficking problem.
"The amount of drug trafficking in the area isn't any worse than anywhere else.
"Daylesford is a supportive community where people are aware of the dangers of drugs and generally report things to police," he said.
"Anyone aware of anyone trafficking drugs should contact Daylesford police, or if they want to remain anonymous they can phone Crimestoppers in Melbourne."
The latest police raid comes after a spate of similar drug trafficking charges laid throughout 2007.
In December Hepburn Springs woman Gillian Francis Moffat, 47, was charged with trafficking amphetamines worth about $12,000.
She was allegedly caught with more than an ounce of uncut amphetamines and a small amount of cannabis.
Moffat has been charged with multiple offences including possessing and trafficking a drug of dependence and will appear in Ballarat Magistrates Court in February
