TRACTORS will pull and mobile phones will fly this weekend for the annual Bullarto Vintage Tractor Pull and Vehicle display at Bullarto Hall Grounds.
Now in its 16th year, the unique event pits tractor drivers against one another to see who can pull a sledge the fastest over 100 metres.
Organiser Len Orr said the tractor pull originated as a way of raising money for the Bullarto Hall and had become a favourite on the Bullarto calender.
He said in recent years a mobile phone throwing competition had been added to the event - an idea inspired by his own mobile phone and by the patchy phone reception received by Bullarto residents.
"I've threatened to throw it away a couple of times," he said.
"Everybody here does get frustrated with their phones."
Participants are presented with second hand mobile phones and the person who throws their phone the furthest wins.
Mr Orr said the competition was all in good fun, although one year a phone company rang organisers to see if the event was a protest.
There will be sheep shearing, food stalls, children's rides and woodchopping whereby contestants have to chop two logs in under 10 minutes.
Beautifully restored vehicles will be on display, an antique stone crusher, a chaff cutter and a hay press, and there will be demonstrations featuring steam engines.
All the money goes to restoring the Bullarto hall.
The event is on Sunday, March 7. Admission $6, children under 16 entry $3, and family of four $12.
