Tender time at council

19 Sep, 2006 09:42 AM
A TENDER for Daylesford's access recreation centre was expected to be decided at last night's Hepburn Shire Council meeting held in Clunes.

As The Advocate was going to print, a report recommending councillors accept the tender from S.J. Weir of Ballarat was presented.

Council's operations manager Andrew Bourke said the tender value for the refurbish-ment and upgrade of the existing Daylesford Secondary College building was about $1.8 million.

"As the tender budget is less than the budget allocation, additional works will be undertaken within the refurbishment component of the project to complete works that were omitted from the contract specification but were requested originally by the

Daylesford Secondary College," he said.

"These works will include but not be limited to the theatre works, additional seating, polishing floors, acoustic refurbishment in canteen, hot water service and incidental works within the existing area of the school complex."

Five tenders were received before the close of tender on August 25.

All five were presented at the council meeting.

Total cost of the ARC is $2.44 million.
