VCE students at Daylesford Secondary College have been praised for their performance following the release of their end-of-year results.
The students awoke early on December 11 to learn the outcome of years of study.
Five Daylesford Secondary College students achieved ENTER scores of over 90.
Megan Helper was dux of the college with a score of 97.65. Other students who achieved scores in the 90s were Emily Thornton (95.45), Georgia Mill (95.4), James Russell (94.55) and Sylvia Hollis (94.35).
Principal Heather McIntyre congratulated the students.
"It was not only the exceptionally high performers who pleased me but the fact that our students performed so well in general. Over one third of them gained scores in excess of 80," she said.
"The most rewarding aspect of the results is that virtually all of our students gained scores that will allow them to pursue the tertiary studies that interest them. It is a great credit to them and the teachers who have taught
them this year, and over the last six years."
Megan would like to study medicine, Emily said she would like to study arts, Georgia wants to pursue performing arts, James would like to study science/engineering and Sylvia would like to study arts.
Sarah Bugden from Daylesford was named dux of Damascus College with an ENTER score of 97.55, while Sevilla Furness-Holland from Hepburn Springs topped the scores at Ballarat Grammar School with 99.4.
Sarah said she would like to study law while Sevilla wants to pursue international studies.
