THE Hepburn Shire is renowned for its memorable and fun Australia Day celebrations and 2008 will be no exception.
Each year hundreds of residents, relatives and visitors attend ceremonies and events across the shire.
Creswick Light Horse troop, classic car club, senior choir and a Teddy Bears' Picnic will be among the attractions.
Celebrations will begin Friday with a Civic Reception at the Daylesford Town Hall at 7pm. This function will include a citizenship ceremony, council's Australia Day Awards presentation and Rotary
Awards presentation, with entertainment and supper provided.
The events are organised by dedicated community groups and residents and the Hepburn Shire Council.

On Saturday there will be events held shire-wide including:
Creswick: 8am, Park Lake Reserve - Flag Raising Ceremony. Program features the Creswick Light Horse Troop, entertainment and free breakfast.
Daylesford: 8am. Burke Square - Flag Raising Ceremony; entertainment and free breakfast.
Creswick: 10am, Park Lake - Teddy Bears' Picnic for the children. Bring Teddy to breakfast.
Trentham: 11.30am, Town Square - Flag Raising Ceremony; entertainment and free barbecue brunch featuring Trentham's famous potatoes.
Creswick: 12pm to 4pm, Calambeen Park - Organised activities for youth by the YMCA. Featuring giant inflatable on the main swimming hole, jumping castle on the lawn area, canoe instruction and
free barbecue.
Clunes: 5.30pm, Collins Place - Flag lowering ceremony with family picnic, free barbecue and entertainment.
Glenlyon: 5.30pm, Glenlyon Recreation Reserve - Flag lowering ceremony with family picnic, free barbecue and entertainment.
