WELL-KNOWN Trentham man Ron Justice has turned 95.
Mr Justice celebrated the milestone with family and friends at Trentham Hall last month.
He spent much of his life on a potato farm near Trentham.
Daughter-in-law Joy said Ron had gained many experiences during his life.
"On the farm he walked behind his beloved horses to plough and sow paddocks for many years until tractors came in," she said.
"That's probably why he's had six hip operations.
"Ron's had a new pacemaker put in a couple of months ago because the battery went flat.
"The doctor said this one would last another 10 years."
In his youth Ron worked at the timber mills at Noojee and Woodspoint.
He was also a keen footballer and played for VFL club Hawthorn.
He represented Trentham, Loddon Valley Rovers (Lyonville) and Yarra Rovers and won several best and fairest awards. He played in the 1930 Trentham premiership side with his four brothers.
Nowadays, Ron is a passionate Essendon supporter.
