POLICE have appealed for a Melbourne businessman who disappeared five days ago to come forward after his car was found abandoned near Ballan yesterday on Monday.
A Blue Toyota Prius owned by Herman Rockefeller was spotted by a member of the public on Carween Lane just north of the Western Fwy. It was found at 1.30pm about 250m from the Ballan-Daylesford Rd.
Detectives and forensic investigators spent several hours going over the vehicle at the scene.
It was taken to the Macleod Forensics Laboratory about 9pm o'clock last night for further testing.
Police Crime Department Detective Senior Sergeant Stuart Bateson said the car had been found locked and there were no signs of "foul play".
