 REMEMBRANCE DAY

REMEMBRANCE DAY

15 Nov, 2006 09:25 AM
A LARGE crowd gathered to mark Remembrance Day last Saturday.

Services were held at Clunes, Creswick and Daylesford to remember those who sacrificed their lives for their country.

Clunes RSL secretary Betty Duncan said a solemn service was held at the Clunes cenotaph.

"We had a good turn-up. Children and staff from Clunes Primary School and Wesley College came along and there was a good roll-up of RSL members and Clunes people," she said.

Ms Duncan said it was pleasing to have the children involved.

"A lot of people put a single flower on the cenotaph," she said.

Ms Duncan thanked RSL members for their support on Remembrance Day.

Creswick Primary School pupils conducted the service at the newly renovated Creswick cenotaph.

About 60 people gathered to pay their respects and about 12 people laid wreaths.

About 150 people attended the service at the Daylesford cenotaph.

Daylesford RSL treasurer Keith Collins said the service was successful.
