A LARGE gathering of past and present teachers, committee members and pupils turned out to help Daylesford Preschool celebrate its 50th birthday on Saturday.
The day of celebrations began with food stalls, displays and a barbecue lunch with the Daylesford and District Brass Band providing entertainment throughout the afternoon.
Event co-organiser Verna Baker said the day was a success with many past students and teachers reuniting.
Mrs Baker said the preschool staff and committee hoped the preschool would exist long enough for 100 year celebrations.
The preschool was combined with the former infant welfare centre which was opened half a century ago.
More than 8000 students have been enrolled since the preschool's inception.
