SWIMMING pool patronage figures in Daylesford suggest the region's youth know how to keep cool during the summer holidays.
Daily patronage and season passes have doubled compared to the same time last year.
YMCA pool manager Cindy Tait said Daylesford was averaging between 150-200 patrons a day over the summer holidays.
"I think we are getting a lot of the lake users back. Parents believe there's better supervision here," Ms Tait said.
Ms Tait said older swimmers were also coming back.
"There are people coming back here for a swim for the first time in 20 years," she said.
The pool's water temperature fluctuates between 26 and 28 degrees and is open to 8pm on warm days.
Daylesford Swimming Pool will host an Australia Day barbecue lunch on January 26. The Daylesford RSL sub-branch will run the event.
