CRESWICK Football Club is part of long list of grievers for a Mitchell Park couple killed in a plane crash.
The Central Highlands Football League club wore two black arm bands as a mark of respect at a match against Springbank at Wallace on Saturday.
Rodney and Wendy Page were among 19 passengers on board a light plane which crashed into the ocean soon after take-off near Tahiti last Friday.
Their son Michael Page plays a significant role at the football club.
He is the club's senior captain and has enjoyed solid form throughout this season.
Although he did not play at the weekend, Michael made a brief appearance at the game in Wallace, where club supporters and officials rallied to support him.
Creswick president Jarred New said the club had passed on its condolences to the family and wanted to make an effort to dedicate the weekend's game to the victims of the tragedy.
"But it's also about supporting the guys who have been affected by it," Mr New said.
Netballers and junior footballers also wore arm bands.
Rodney Page owned a Ballarat plumbing business while his wife had worked as an intensive care nurse at St John of God hospital for over 30 years.
