A CROWD of music enthusiasts were captured by the beautiful classical music they heard at Daylesford's day of the Organs of the Ballarat Goldfields Festival on Monday, January 16.
The record-breaking crowd were treated to music by harpist Dannielle Forbes and Duo Seraphim at Daylesford Anglican Church.
Festival publicity officer Brenda Hunter said the interest in the festival has been huge.
"A lot of people like good music and come for all the wonderful barbecues and picnics to socialise," she said.
"People have come from Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane."
Ms Hunter said the festival attracted musicians from Italy, Germany, Holland and Norway.
"They love coming to Australia because of the wonderful audiences and Sergio de Pieri (artist director) cooks every meal for them," she said.
"There is no other festival in the world where they are looked after (the way they are here)."
Mr de Pieri chose Daylesford as one of the venues for the world-class performance because of its organs and heritage buildings.
Ms Hunter said the performance at Daylesford Anglican Church was repeated because of the interest.
"The numbers are the biggest we've had," she said.
Audiences were also treated to a flute and organ performance at Daylesford Uniting Church by Andrea Dainese and Mario Duella who have played in many concerts in Italy.
To end the Daylesford day, four saxophone players, Saxofourte, played at Daylesford Town Hall on Monday evening.
The festival continues at heritage buildings in Castlemaine today and Clunes on Saturday. It finishes on Sunday at St Patrick's Cathedral in Ballarat.
