THE start of a journey began for local industry at the Hepburn Regional Tourism Association industry launch on November 17.
More than 80 people from local tourism businesses and representatives from Tourism Victoria, Macedon Ranges and Spa Country Campaign Committee and Hepburn Shire attended the launch at the Pavilion Cafe in Hepburn
Springs.
The role of the HRTA was outlined to guests along with some information regarding the upcoming Daylesford branding campaign by the MRSCSS and Tourism Victoria.
Tourism Victoria marketing director Don Ritcher said the establishment of the RTA was good timing given the fact Tourism Victoria was planning a major brand campaign for Daylesford.
"It is important that the industry gets behind the campaign and ensures its longevity," he said.
"This can only happen if industry is organised and you have commenced that by the establishment of the Hepburn RTA."
The establishment of the RTA presents a range of opportunities for the local industry to work cooperatively.
"This is the start of a journey and growing and sustaining any RTA requires an ongoing commitment by the tourism industry," Mr Ritcher said.
"You have the support of the Hepburn Shire and Tourism Victoria however successful RTAs are owned and driven by the tourism industry."
The launch also included the Tourism Minister John Pandazopoulos, congratulating the RTA and wishing it all the best with its future work on a CD.
