New program offers help

29 Aug, 2006 10:29 AM
HEPBURN Shire men experience chronic diseases at rates above the state average, and Hepburn Health Service's Robert Watson wants to do something to help.

Mr Watson said an innovative men's health program would help reduce the incidence of chronic disease for men in the shire.

Mr Watson said the program was a three-year initiative.

"The goal will be achieved by increasing opportunities for social interaction and physical activity. The program has a focus on men aged between 35 and 55 years, but all men are welcome to participate," he said.

The program is currently holding community meetings to identify needs and priorities.

The meetings will be held at the Harvest Cafe in Daylesford on Monday, September 11, at 7pm; and the Community Health Centre in Trentham, on Tuesday, September 12, at 7pm.

Entry is free and supper will be provided.

Details: 5345 9171.
