A $2.6 MILLION upgrade of Trentham District Primary School was opened last Friday by Education Minister Bronwyn Pike.
"These great new facilities are the result of input from the Trentham community and have been funded through the Brumby Labor Government's Rural School Replacement program," Ms Pike said.
"This school has a long history of educating the young people of Trentham and the surrounding districts from its early beginnings 135 years ago.
"Trentham District Primary School now has a modern 21st century learning facility that the community needs and deserves."
The school now boasts four new classrooms, a new reading recovery area, a library and multipurpose area, staff and administrative areas and student toilets.
"The layout of the school complements the delivery of Victoria's modern curriculum, catering to intimate or more substantial groups of students," Ms Pike said.
"The spacious, light-filled learning areas have been designed to meet the technology needs of students in the 21st century and provide a solid foundation for Trentham's present and future students to blossom."
Trentham's transformation is set to continue as it has also received $925,000 under the Commonwealth's Building the Education Revolution.
