DAYLESFORD was hit with a downpour on Saturday afternoon giving relief to thirsty gardens.
At about 4.30pm, 28.5mm of rain bucketed from the skies, creating a freakish pattern in the southern skies after 6pm.
The Advocate's weather recorder Jack Atkinson said that although the rain was good it ran off quickly.
"It kept gardens a bit wet but that was about all," Mr Atkinson said.
The clouds in the sky after the storm were caught on camera by some residents including Dale Callahan.
Mr Callahan said he thought the sky looked eerie, an effect that could have been caused by two weather patterns colliding.
Although the downpour has bumped up the month's rainfall to 35mm, it doesn't compare with last February's 127mm. The wettest day was recorded on February 3, with 80mm.
