Journey delivers a new beginning

22 May, 2007 10:42 AM
TULKUL-Rose is about to embark on a journey overseas to visit underprivileged children she has helped through her fundraising.

The Daylesford resident has raised money through aid group Global Good Samaritan to pay for four sewing machines to be sent to third world countries.

She said the sewing machines would help girls avoid prostitution by giving them a chance to earn a living for themselves and their family.

"Giving them a start not only helps them but the clothes they make will benefit their community," Tulkul-Rose said.

She said she was extremely grateful to Daylesford and district people who had assisted her cause by donating.

"It's great to know so many people recognise what I'm doing.

"So many people have given money and it goes to a fantastic cause," she said.
