HEPBURN Shire Council will host a Visitor Information Centre summit on Thursday.
Volunteers and co-ordinators from the shires of Hepburn, Macedon Ranges, Mitchell, Hume and Melton will attend.
Shire tourism officer Kyle Barnes said the summit provided volunteers the chance to see what the various areas in the region had to offer.
"This way when volunteers greet visitors they are able to not just provide information about their immediate area but the whole region," he said.
"At this year's summit in the Hepburn Shire we are actually bussing people around the shire to see first hand some of our wonderful sights, icons and attractions."
More than 100 visitor information centre volunteers are expected to take part.
Meanwhile, Mr Barnes is also calling for more volunteers to work at the information centres in Daylesford, Clunes, Creswick and Trentham.
"Volunteering at the information centres provides a way for residents to meet people from all over the world and work with other dedicated locals," he said.
"Volunteers provide a great service to the community and the tourism industry.
"The centres could not operate without the volunteers _ they bring a range of knowledge and local expertise that is unsurpassed."
