HEPBURN SES has passed its first test with flying colours after being pulled into action by last week's heavy rainfall and wild weather.
Controller David Wellings said 25 volunteers had contributed to the unit's biggest operation yet.
"The quality of the volunteers was outstanding. Many of us pulled all nighters and had to go to work the next morning,"he said.
"It was our first big test."
From 6pm last Wednesday to 3pm Thursday, Hepburn SES attended 29 local call-outs and five call-outs to Ballarat.
"We were well informed of the forthcoming weather event and we had teams in place," Mr Wellings said.
"All major roads were at some stage blocked."
The Daylesford Trentham Road was particularly problematic and had to be closed on three occasions due to fallen trees and debris.
"The Ballarat and Central Highlands area was the worst hit in the state," Mr Wellings said.
"It has mainly been trees. There was no reported infrastructure damage at all."
Hepburn SES cleared its last job at 10am on Friday.
