Hepburn Health thanks its dedicated volunteers

HEPBURN Health
Service recognised the
contribution of 150 vol
unteers at a forum held
at Newlyn Sporting
Complex on Monday,
December 5.
As part of Inter
national Volunteer
Day, Hepburn Health
Service thanked vol
unteers for their ef
forts throughout the
year.
Hepburn Health Ser
vice volunteer coordi
nation Lisa Rodier said
the volunteers from
Clunes, Creswick,
Trentham and Dayles
ford campuses con
nected with each other
for the third annual
forum.
She said there were
230 Hepburn Health
Service volunteers
that helped in the
transport program and
the meals on wheels
program, entertained
and assisted aged care
residents and were on
call in Clunes.
Margaret Orr from
Creswick was a volun
teer for the transport
program as well as a
member of the hospital
auxiliary.
"I enjoy volunteering
because I get a lot of
satisfaction out of it,"
Ms Orr said.
Judy Brown from
Daylesford donated
her time to pastoral
care in Creswick, Day
lesford and Trentham.
"I enjoy being with
people who can't move
away," Ms Brown said.
Football player and
coach David Parkin
spoke to the volun
teers about leadership,
well-being, motiv
ation, team dynamics
and the fundamentals
of organisational suc
cess.
"Hepburn Shire is
lucky to have Austra
lian volunteers in the
numbers it has," Mr
Parkin said.

Mitchell who returned
from the Gaza Strip
volunteering with
Medecins Sans
Frontieres also spoke
to the volunteers
about her experience.
