Gopher gold at Fiesta Grand Prix

11 Oct, 2006 03:44 PM
THE John Curtin Memorial Hostel is gearing up for another successful Gopher Grand Prix at the Creswick Forestry Fiesta.

In its second year, the event hopes to see aged care residents, politicians, school teachers, business leaders, community identities and media celebrities race in a gopher and help raise funds for the not for profit hostel.

About 60 people entered last year's event, which raised more than $3000 for resident services improvements.

The event is expected to provide fun and enjoyment and raise money for a worthy cause.

The Gopher Grand Prix will be held on Sunday, October 29, between 1pm and 3.30pm.
