SMOKE covered Daylesford's Tippery Springs last week as part of autumn fuel reduction burns.
Fire management officer Lee Gleeson said the burns were conducted to protect the townships of Daylesford and Hepburn Springs from wildfire.
Other fuel reduction burns were held in Blackwood and Spargo Creek last week.
Mr Gleeson said the weather was suitable to conduct the burns, with low winds reported.
Daylesford based Department of Sustainability and the Environment has another 80 prescribed burns on its books, but may only manage 20 to 30 during the season.
