ISSUES regarding the introduction of new farming planning zones and how they affect existing properties will be thrashed out at a public forum in Daylesford tomorrow night.
Rural property owners with less than 40 hectares in Hepburn Shire's west and east areas face new zoning guidelines that will restrict rights to build on their land.
The tough stance on rural planning is aimed at protecting the district's large scale commercial farming industry.
The meeting, at Daylesford Primary School, will attempt to clear up confusion surrounding the planning scheme, which the State Government implemented in 2006 to balance the amount of hobby and large-scale farmers in the
shire.
A meeting in Kyneton attracted 400 people concerned about the policy. Speakers at the forum will include Mr Esmore, Mayor David Smith, real estate agent John Keating, land valuers and town planners. The meeting starts
at 7.30pm.
