19 Oct, 2005 10:11 AM

CRESWICK is gearing up for its biggest Forestry Fiesta yet.

This year marks the fiesta's 10th anniversary which promises to showcase something for everyone.

Creswick Forestry Fiesta chairman Colin Wrigley said the fiesta is getting bigger each year.

"With the 10 year celebrations, this year's fiesta has to be the biggest and the best," he said.

Mr Wrigley said the fiesta aims to get everyone involved.

"It's important to get the whole community involved," he said.

"Different people can see different highlights including stalls, the street parade and a new rock concert."

Mr Wrigley said the fiesta will see an involvement of a different age group.

"We've been skinny on youth so we've filled the gap with a youth stage," he said,

Youth Stage will feature three bands and a battle of the bands competition promoting youth music.

The fiesta will officially open on Sunday, October 30, 2005, at 11am.

Events on the day include the annual Hancock Brackenbury classic fun run, the 2006 Commonwealth Games grand street parade, a duck race, street activities including a variety of stalls, the "grab a gopher race", a woodturners demonstration and more.

The Creswick Museum and Gold Battery will also be open with special presentations of local historical sporting memorabilia.

All interested people are invited to head to vibrant Creswick for a great day out.
