TOMORROW'S mail will be a very special delivery for Danny and Roz Moynihan.
It will be their last day at the Daylesford Post Office after 22 years of hard but rewarding work.
The couple made an emotional decision to retire and will slowly start to discover life outside managing the post office.
Mr Moynihan said they would "retire gracefully" starting with a few jobs around the house and some trips.
It has been eight years since Mrs Moynihan spent Christmas Day with her family in Kapunda and she plans to make the trip to South Australia this year.
According to the Moynihans, their customers have become part of the family.
"We will really miss our extended family," Mrs Moynihan said. "Customer support has been fantastic."
Staff members Nat Moynihan, who has been there for eight years, and Shirl Congdon, seven years, will also leave the post office.
The new owners from Melton will employ their own family.
The Moynihans said the post office began with 96 post boxes and now has 630.
"It was a quiet country town and the business and area has grown," Mr Moynihan said.
