DRUGS of addiction, heavy pain killers and codeine were stolen from the Daylesford Chemmart Pharmacy on Friday.
Moorabool CIU detectives are investigating the break-in at the Vincent St store in the early hours of September 19.
Detective Senior Constable Eddy Barake said the break-in happened about 2am on Friday and about $1500 of goods were taken.
Det-Sen-Constable Barake said the stolen goods mainly included ``drugs of addiction, heavy pain killers and some forms of codeine''.
``We believe it was two males at this stage and are appealing for witnesses and any further information,'' he said.
The thieves gained access to the pharmacy by forcing open the glass sliding front doors, he said.
The pharmacy was closed for business for several hours on Friday morning while police carried out their investigations.
The theft coincided with the last day of part-owner Peter Anderson who retired last Friday after 20 years at the pharmacy.
No-one at the pharmacy was prepared to comment on the theft on Monday.
