THE streets of Creswick will come alive with music this Sunday, October 25, as the 14th annual Creswick Forestry Fiesta gets underway.
The festival, which kicks off from 9am, celebrates fairytales of the forest.
"We expect around 5000 visitors to enjoy this year's Creswick Forestry Fiesta," the fiesta's publicity officer Kate Frogley said.
"This year's fiesta offers a huge program of activities and events for the whole family and will feature live bands, recycled art, craft and food stalls, the Grand Street Parade, lots of entertainment for the kids, `Chalk Up the Town', a woodcraft display, tours of the Creswick Woollen
Mills and Novotel Forest Resort Creswick and historical tours."
The Creswick Garden Club's annual flower show will be a highlight again, being held over two days at the old Creswick Town Hall tarting at 2pm on Saturday, October 24.
Sunday's activities start at 9am with the Brackenbury Classic fun run starting near the old Creswick Post Office building with runs over 5kms, 10kms and a half-marathon through Creswick's State Forest.
More than 100 runners are expected to enter and registrations will be accepted on the day.
The Grand Street Parade in Albert St begins at noon and a perpetual trophy will be awarded to the best float.
The fiesta area near the bandstand and along Raglan and Cambridge streets will be filled from early Sunday morning with a variety of stalls and amusements.
Funds raised from the Creswick Forestry Fiesta benefit local community groups and organisations.
