Creswick prospects look good

29 Aug, 2006 10:29 AM
THE launch of the prospectus for Creswick and District Financial Services Limited will be a major milestone in establishing Creswick's community bank, chairman Graeme Mitchell has said.

The prospectus is a 50-page document which contains information regarding the nature and prospects of the proposed community bank business to be established by the company.

It also outlines the opportunity for community members to assist in raising funds for a community bank branch of Bendigo Bank in Creswick.

"Once the site for the bank, the corner of Raglan and Cambridge streets, was finally decided, we were able to complete the prospectus and submit it to the Australian Securities and Investment Commission for approval," Mr Mitchell said.

Mr Mitchell said the project would deliver significant social and economic benefits to the region.

Everyone who made a pledge of financial support for the establishment of a community bank in Creswick will receive a copy of the prospectus at the launch or in the days following.

Anyone who requires a copy should contact Graeme Mitchell on 5345 1180, Brendan Smith on 5345 2510 or Bob Orr on 5345 2165.

The prospectus launch will be held at the Bill Huntley Function Room at John Curtin Memorial Hostel on Tuesday, September 5.

The meeting will be open to the public.
