HOLCOMBE Ward Councillor Bill McClenaghan plans to re-stand for Hepburn Shire Council election despite a tumultuous 2007.
"I have unfinished business," Cr McClenaghan said.
"There's a lot of things that have to be sorted out in the next few years," he said.
Cr McClenaghan is being investigated by Local Government Minister Richard Wynne for allegedly bullying council chief executive Victor Szwed.
Cr McClenaghan said he would sacrifice his personal life to continue his role if re-elected.
"Sure the role has encroached on my working and social life, but that's what the job's all about."
He said the restructuring of shire boundaries would present him with new challenges at the polling booth.
The shire will have increased representation when two extra councillors are introduced after the election.
"My most significant achievements, the Hepburn pool issue, the ARC and The Bathhouse all happened in my ward, which will be changed next year," Cr McClenaghan said.
Coliban Ward Councillor Heather Mutimer said although she hadn't reached a decision, she was "likely" to run for election.
"I would like to continue to represent my ward, I think I have done a fairly good job," Cr Mutimer said.
Cr Mutimer was on leave for more than a month in 2007 because of council-related health issues.
Creswick Ward's Janine Booth said she hadn't decided whether to re-stand.
"I will sit down and discuss it with my family later in the year because it's a four-year commitment, but I have enjoyed representing the people of Creswick.
"I'd like to get some of the internal matters straightened out," she said.
Cr Booth welcomed the inclusion of an extra councillor in Creswick Ward.
"With the development of Forest Resort, Calembeen Park and the new Interpretative Centre there's definitely a need for two representatives."
Former Hepburn Shire mayor and Victorian Local Governance Association vice-president Warren Maloney said he was considering candidacy.
"I have a ALP Branch meeting tonight (Monday) and I will get a feel for the idea there," Mr Maloney said.
