Council keen to ensure Cameron Ward is cared for

18 Jan, 2006 01:45 PM
HEPBURN Shire Council will ensure residents in Cameron Ward are represented while they await the result of the by-election on March 4.

The by-election was called to fill the vacancy left after the sudden death of Bernadette Stamatov just days after she was elected.

Mayor Heather Mutimer and chief executive officer Victor Szwed will visit Clunes Town Hall on Monday from 2pm to 4.30pm to hear any concerns from residents.

Cr Mutimer said residents in Cameron Ward were not without representation and every effort was being made to ensure they were catered for before the by-election.

The election is by postal vote. Nomination for candidates opens on January 25 and closes on January 31. Ballot packs will be mailed to residents from February 14 to 16. Votes will be accepted until March 3.
