A COMMUNITY fundraiser at The Palais on Sunday has raised well over $10,000 for the bushfire appeal.
Organiser Nel Staite said $10,000 was raised by 5.30pm from a raffle, an art auction, sausage sizzle and cake sale.
"Yesterday's event was an overwhelming success, quite beyond words and with more than a few tears," she said.
"By 5.30pm we reached $10,000 - and the money kept pouring in till 10pm.
"We are yet to count the takings from the bar and remainder of the door but anticipate it will up the amount quite substantially."
Ms Staite, who organised the event with Sallie Harvey, said the event was "co-ordinated by people who volunteered, supported and donated their time, products and energy from all over this wonderful community and beyond".
"Everybody gave what they could - and together it proved to be more than enough," she said.
"Standing up there last night and looking over all the people and famillies, I felt LA110%really proud to be a part of such a beautiful community."
Meanwhile, the "tip" jar at Muffy's Cafe has raised more than $5000 for the bushfire appeal.
Ann-Maree Mackley said the money would be given to Myer Bendigo, which is matching dollar-for-dollar all amounts raised up to $500,000.
Ms Mackley said the cafe's appeal had received an overwhelming response.
"We just want to thank our staff and our customers," she said.
"People have been quite emotional and given very generously and we are going to keep going as long as people want to give."
Muffy's Cafe was also the collection point for two tradies, Jeremy Hartnup and Jason Greiner, who asked people to donate tools.
A trailer parked outside the cafe was loaded over the week with a variety of tools, including a generator, which were delivered to those in need last Friday.
