FRESH faces were welcomed as the new committee of the Hepburn Regional Tourist Association formed last week.
Community spirit was high at the HRTA annual meeting on July 30, which was held at the Lake House.
The newly elected president is Carole Hulst, Nigel Dempster is vice-president and Maggie Nightingdale is treasurer.
Liz Schibig, secretary and administrator for the HRTA, said it was exciting to be part of the committee. "The basic aim is to build better businesses and lifestyles, and hopefully grow the HRTA to better represent tourism while
balancing the needs of the community as well."
The committee is well prepared for the challenge. All committee members live locally and operate businesses in the Hepburn Shire.
Actively engaging in the community is a passion and members donate their time freely to volunteer for the HRTA.
"The new committee has a wealth of experience and knowledge," said Mrs Schibig.
The committee has great visions for tourism development in the region, along with planning for the upcoming ChillOut festival that brought an estimated $6 million into local economy in March.
