CLUNES has marked the first anniversary of the devastating floods of January 14, 2011 with a photographic exhibition.
The exhibition, titled Reflections - A Photographic Journey into the Clunes Floods, was launched last Friday evening at Jane's Cafe, and has now moved across to the Clunes Community Health Centre for two weeks.
Flood Recovery Officer Karina Brooks said there were 150 - 200 visitors to the cafe, which has now officially closed, last Friday and Saturday to view the photography display.
"There was a lot of storytelling and sharing," Ms Brooks said.
"People walking around said the photos helped to give some closure on the anniversary of the floods.
"People reflected about where the flooding took place and how they ended up strengthening the community.
"Out of the floods we had the support group that brought people together and gave them an opportunity to know each other.
"Even the youth and the children got in and had a go helping people in need."
She said the flood support office would continue to offer personal support over the next six months until June and they were collaborating with the shire to run more community events.
"We're looking into continuing the support group somewhere else now that Jane's Cafe has closed."
She said the exhibition was launched on Friday evening with moving speeches by members of Hepburn Shire Council and well-known locals.
