Car smashes into shed

16 Oct, 2007 10:54 AM
AN ALLEGED drink driver lost control of his car, sending it crashing into a Daylesford garage early Sunday morning.

Police said the 23-year-old driver and his two passengers were airborne for almost 10 metres before hitting the Central Springs Rd garage at about 2am.

The smash left the residents, a couple both in their 60s, and another 87-year-old woman shaken and upset.

Police said the man was expected to be charged with a range offences, including drink driving.

It is the second time the couple's home has been damaged by an out-of-control car.

In 2004 a drink driver smashed through their garden and destroyed a hot house.

The family will write to Hepburn Shire Council asking to have a guard rail installed to protect their home.

It is believed police were pursuing the driver when his Ford Falcon left the road.
