CRESWICK'S community bank branch has been given the go ahead following a successful feasibility study.
The study, conducted in February, indicated the proposed Creswick and District Community Bank branch would be financially viable.
Community bank board chairman Graeme Mitchell thanked the community for its strong support so far, and for indicating its willingness to bank with a local community bank branch.
"Both feasibility study survey responses and information gathered during two days of interviews indicated that the local community wants a community bank branch and will support it," he said.
"The message now is for everyone who pledged their support to follow through by becoming a shareholder in Creswick and District Community Bank and ultimately, a customer," he said.
"Once the location of the bank has been finally determined and the prospectus completed and approved, the community will be approached again to contribute the capital required to make Creswick and District Community Bank
branch a reality."
